Sigh. READ THIS PLEASE IF YOU THINK YOU ARE A PEACE ACTIVIST AND/OR THAT NO ONE IN FAVOR OF THE IDF OPS IN GAZA TO STOP THE MISSILE FIRE ON SOUTHERN ISRAEL IS.

If you are in favor of this, you are not a peace activist. You are not a spiritual progressive or inclusionist. This is religious nationalism. I know you. This is not who you are...and it is EXACTLY one of the things you voted against when you voted for Obama if you did. You do not want someone to dictate your patriotism to you through the lense of their particular expression of religion. And that goes for you whatever religion you might be.

Listen closely people. Hamas does not equal "Palestine." The Gaza ops is not Israel versus "the Palestinian People."

Again. This link is not at all to recommend this specific site, but to show what pops up easily on Google: "Hamas Charter." Try, "The Israel-Arab Reader: A Documentary History of the Middle East Conflict," Laquer and Rubin, editors (the book on my desk)...or something else. ANYTHING else. Just READ it.

Can you tell? I am exhausted from the pundits who do not know the difference between Hamas, PLO, Fatah, Hizbollah, Islamic Jihad, Gaza, West Bank, or even WHERE in crikey on the map Gaza is!

No one is happy about the situation in Gaza. But I want to ask this.....where have you been with your peace protests for the last 8 years while thousands of Hamas missiles have rained down on the people (Jew Christian Moslem and otherwise) of Southern Israel?
